Currency exchange
Finland`s monetary unit is the euro (EUR, €). Currency Exchange Office Forex serves you in Tapiola, Espoo and at the Central Railway Station in Helsinki.
IT services
You can connect your laptop or mobile phone to a wireless network in many places throughout the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. The WLAN Hotspot provides details of where you can connect. Wireless internet access is available throughout the conference venue and hotels.
Pharmacy
Several pharmacies serve you in Helsinki metropolitan area. The University Pharmacy located at Kaivopiha (Mannerheimintie 5) near the Helsinki main railway station is open every day from 7am to 12 pm. Sellon Apteekki in Shopping Centre Sello (2nd floor) is open Mon- Fri from 8.30am to 9pm, Sat from 9am to 6 pm and Sun from 12am to 6 pm. Tapiola pharmacy is from 5 minutes’ walk from Sokos Hotel Garden and it’s open from 8 am to 9 pm at Mon-Fri.
Maps
Free paper maps from Helsinki can be found at Helsinki central railway station, next to big map of Helsinki on the wall. Great map is also found at www.maps.google.fi.
Shopping
Shopping mall Sello is located next to Leppävaara train station. It’s 1 km way from the conference venue. At Helsinki city center best shopping malls are Forum and Kamppi and best department store is Stockmann. All shopping malls and department stores are open Mon-Fri from 9am to 9 pm.
Taxi
Taxi Helsinki, tel. +358 (0)100 0700 (EUR 1, 15/phone call + EUR 0, 164/CENT 10 + local call charge) or +358 (0) 1007300 for the whole capital city area (Helsinki, Espoo, Kauniainen and Vantaa) taxi. Both numbers can be used at the same price. Taxis can be ordered by phone, from taxi stands or hailed from the street. Conference venue has its own taxi services.

Clothing when visiting Finland in February
Prepare yourself with warm outdoor clothes: jacket, scarf, gloves, headgear and shoes. Dress code for Conference Gala Dinner is business casual.
Transportation (public):
The Conference venue, Laurea Leppävaara Campus, is situated within easy reach of Helsinki- Vantaa airport, 20 minutes by car. Visiting Helsinki city center is easy and fast thanks to excellent public transportation.
How to get to Laurea Leppävaara Campus?
From Sokos Hotel Garden: Take bus 110 or 52. It takes about 30-40 minutes.
From hotel Glo: Take bus 110, 29, 24, 20 or 5 or walk 1 km. It takes about 5 minutes by bus.
From Helsinki city center: Take train A, E, S, U or Y and walk 1 km from Leppävaara train station or take bus 270, 270A, 248 or 231K and walk 400m from bus stop to the Laurea Leppävaara Campus. It takes about 30-45 minutes, train is faster than buses.
How to get to Ritarihuone for dinner?
From Sokos Hotel Garden: Take bus 105, 106, 107, 109 or 110 to Kamppi and walk to Lasipalatsi (in front of Sokos department store). Take tram 4/4T to Katajanokka or 7B. Leave tram at Ritarihuone stop.
From hotel Glo: Take train A, E, S, U or Y to Helsinki and and walk to Lasipalatsi (in front of Sokos department store). Take tram 4/4T to Katajanokka or 7B. Leave tram at Ritarihuone stop.
